FRANCES McSORLEY

Frances Marie McSorley, age 90, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 2, 2018, in the Knox County Nursing Home at Edina, Missouri.

She was born in Edina, Missouri, on November 1, 1927, the daughter of James Henry and Gertrude L. Noblitt Moran.  She was united in marriage to Oad Burl McSorley on January 3, 1950, and he preceded her in death on December 5, 1959.  Frances was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Aaron Todd Peterson; one brother, Paul Moran; sisters Dorothy Hettinger, Betty Krowlek, Louise Teague, Lena Dowdy, Mary Margaret Inman, Patricia Kay Witte, and Geneva Bjortvedt; and nephews, Jon Frank Hettinger, David Witte, Mike Inman and Michael McGlothlin.

Surviving are one daughter Diane Meek of Gladstone, Missouri; one grandson, Darron Meek of Gladstone, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Peterson, Keegan Peterson and Savannah Blanchard; a sister, Barbara Jo McGlothlin of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was raised in Knox County and received her education in St. Joseph Catholic School.  She was engaged in farming for many years in Knox County.  She was a licensed real estate agent and sold real estate in Edina and Columbia, Missouri.

Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri, with Reverend John Bode officiating for the services.  Burial will be at a later date in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Music will be provided by Carol Hayes, pianist and Toni Riekeberg, soloist, singing “My Way” and “Old Rugged Cross”.
