MILDRED BAILEY

 

Mrs. Mildred Irene Bailey, 91, of Lewistown, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.

The daughter of Adolph and Katie Hildmann Wehrmann, Mildred was born on March 18, 1927 at Zion, Illinois.

She was united in marriage to Robert Bailey on August 6, 1950 in the First Baptist Church at LaBelle, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on June 7, 1987.

Mildred was a 50 year member and Past Matron of the LaBelle Order of the Eastern Star #316 and a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Lewistown, where she played the organ for many years.  She worked for the Division of Family Services in Monticello and enjoyed listening to jazz music, going to softball and basketball games and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Bailey of Kansas City, Mo.; two granddaughters, Erin (Randy) Davis of Kansas City, Mo. and Laura (Brad) Hawkinson of Lenexa, Kansas; great-grandson, Max Hawkinson; sister-in-law, Claire Wehrmann of LaBelle, Mo.;

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Dennis Bailey, sister, Elnora Wehrmann and a brother, Lloyd Wehrmann.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Park United Methodist Church in Lewistown, Missouri with Rev. Carolyn Leaver officiating.  Burial will be in the Lewistown Cemetery with Randy Penn, Tim Penn, Stephen Penn, Randy Davis, Brad Hawkinson and Allan Galloway as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 until 8 PM at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown with an Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 PM.
