Evelyn J. Glasgow, 85, of Edina, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at the Twin Pines Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
Evelyn was born on January 10, 1933, in Luray, Missouri, the daughter of Merrill Virgil, Sr. and Evelyn Bernice Benda Ingold.
Evelyn attended the Wyaconda Schools graduating high school, in the Class of 1951. She continued her education at the Northeast Missouri State University, with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education, in 1973.
In January of 1951, Evelyn Ingold married Russell “Merrill” Fox, and to this union one daughter was born, and he preceded her in death in October of 1975.
On April 5, 1977, in Kirksville, Missouri, Evelyn Jewlene Ingold Fox married Bobby Carlyle Glasgow. They made their home on the farm northeast of Edina, Missouri, celebrating 38 years together before Bobby preceded her on June 5, 2015.
In her early years, Evelyn, sold Avon Products and worked as the head book keeper at the Commerce Bank in Kirksville, Missouri. After moving to the farm near Edina, she settled in as a farm wife and enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, gardening, music and was a quiet artist. Evelyn, “Aunt Punkie” as she was known by her nieces and nephews, loved helping family.
They were members of the Edina Christian Church, and were very active but Evelyn especially enjoyed bringing music to the church by way of the piano and organ.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Dixie Lee Stribling of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters, Lois Keller of Camdenton, Missouri and Anita Milz of Independence, Missouri; a brother-in-law, C.V. Smith of Republic, Missouri; six step-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Merrill Fox and Bobby Glasgow, parents, Merrill and Evelyn Ingold; three sisters, Ila Smith, Clarice Jones, and Reva Graham; a brother, M.V. and his wife, Arlene Ingold; and a stepson, Bill Glasgow.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
Interment will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery, in Kirksville, Missouri.
Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Music will be provided by Rita Worthington and Brent Karhoff. Casket Bearers will be Red Calahan, Kenny Cooper, Steven Miller, Brian Banks, Michael Glasgow, and Frank Crabtree.
