Knox County Christmas Celebration on Friday, December 14th

The Knox County Christmas Celebration will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 in Edina, Missouri.

Christmas Gift Fair

Visit the Knox County Community Center! Vendors, crafters, bakers, candy makers, local businesses and organizations will be set up and selling a wide assortment of items, hosting silent auctions, and raffling off prizes! The community center is located north of the courthouse.

Chamber of Commerce Soup Supper 5pm-7pm
Free Will Donation
The Annual Knox County Chamber of Commerce Soup Supper will be held at the Edina American Legion Post No. 261 south of the courthouse. An assortment of hot soups made by Chamber members will be offered to attendees. Freewill donations will be accepted. Money raised during the soup supper will be used for Chamber of Commerce projects.

Visit from Santa at the Knox County Courthouse 6pm-8pm

Santa Claus will be in Edina! Watch him arrive on an Edina Fire Truck and circle the Edina Town Square at 6pm sharp! He will be dropped off at the courthouse where he plans to enter the south facing door of the building and spend time visiting with children inside the courthouse!

KCPC Cookie Decorating 6pm-8pm

The Knox County Promotional Council will be at the Knox County Courthouse helping children decorate Christmas cookies. Delicious sugar cookies and a colorful assortment of icing will be on hand for little ones to decorate their Christmas cookies while they wait to visit with Santa!

Christian Church Live Nativity Scene 5pm-7pm

Members of the First Christian Church of Edina will be enacting Nativity scenes outside of the Christian Church, located a few blocks east of the courthouse on Highway 6. Spectators are invited to drive-thru and watch scenes centered around the birth of Jesus. Tune your car radio to FM 89.1 to listen to the show on your car stereo from the comfort of your heated vehicle or venture outside and sit on hay bales to watch the show and take a closer look at the animals and the actors!

Hayrides 6pm-8pm

This year’s hayrides are possible thanks to the Hayes family, Scott Jansen and Billy Mallett. We hope to have two tractors and trailers rolling between C&R Market, the 4-H/FFA Pavilion, the Knox County Library and the First Christian Church Live Nativity Scene. Pickup will be on Monticello Street between the Knox County Community Center and the courthouse.

Hot Chocolate in the Courtyard 5pm-7pm

The Knox County University of Missouri Extension Office and Knox County 4-H Program will be hosting their annual Hot Chocolate Bar in a new location, which is in the courtyard at the Knox County courthouse outside the south facing door. Stop by for a warm-up between visits to the many activities going on in Edina during the Christmas Celebration!

Christmas Craft Time 6pm-8pm

Members of the Edina Assembly of God Church will offer Christmas Craft Time at the South Side Youth center south of the courthouse on Lafayette Street. Stop in and make a quick and crafty Christmas ornament or another Christmas craft!

Mrs. Claus’ Story Time

Mrs. Claus is making an appearance in Edina to read Christmas and holiday stories to children at the Knox County Library, which is located on South Main Street across from the Citizens Bank of Edina and southwest of the Edina Town Square. Take a hayride and hop off for some story magic or walk the short distance to the library, sit a spell and listed to a Christmas story read by Mrs. Claus!

C&R Market Food Tasting

Stop in the C&R Market to taste different holiday dishes prepared by the staff at the local store! Dishes are prepared special for the event. Enjoy foods from different departments throughout the store! C&R Market is located on North 4th Street a few blocks north of the courthouse.

C&R Liquor Depot Spirit Tasting 4pm-6pm

Stop by and taste some sensational seasonal spirits! This stop is for adults 21 & over only. C&R Liquor Depot is located on North 4th Street next door to C&R Market a few blocks north of the courthouse.

Hardwood Xpress Giveaway

Stop and put in your order for a free ornament for babies born in 2018 that live in Knox County! Come by and put in your order or pickup your ornament! Hardwood Xpress is located east of the courthouse on North Fourth Street.

Mitchell’s Christmas Kettle Corn 3pm-8:30pm

The Mitchell family will be selling delicious Christmas Kettle Corn in the Knox County Community Center parking lot during the Gift Fair. Pick up warm freshly popped kettle corn north of the courthouse. Red and green kettle corn is also available!

Nutty Bavarian of Novelty Fresh Roasted Nuts 3pm-8:30pm
SALE
Fresh roasted pecans, almonds and cashews will be warm and ready to enjoy. The sweet treats are available in an assortment of flavors and sizes. Visit the stand set up in the parking lot of the Knox County Community Center north of the courthouse during the Gift Fair!

New Hope Christmas Caroling 6pm-7:30pm

The New Hope Baptist Church will host a sing-along Christmas music gathering complete with refreshments! Stop in, sing some songs and listen to music prepared by members of the church! The New Hope Baptist Church is located west of the courthouse on North Main Street.
