Barbara Jeanette (Jan) Doss

Barbara Jeanette (Jan) Doss, age 59, of Baring, MO, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.  She was born January 24, 1959, in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Eldon Jewel and Barbara Jane Woodard Shultz.   She was united in marriage to Wendell Doss on June 18, 1977, in Baring, MO.

Surviving are her husband Wendell Doss of Baring, MO, her mother Barbara Ewalt of Edina, MO, three children, Amy (Brian) Easley of Mexico, MO, Tyler Doss of Baring, MO, and Katie (Bronson) Love of Greentop, MO, one brother Fred (Carol) Ewalt of Leesburg, FL, one granddaughter Sophie Jane Easley, a cousin Dr. Rebecca Jane Woodard of Springfield, MO, numerous nieces and nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, Shirley (Leroy) Rohs, Virgil Doss, David (Mary Ann) Doss, Jo Ellen Doss, Gary (Mary Jo) Doss, Roger (Pam) Doss, Kay (Bud) Jones, and David Neagle.

Jan was preceded in death by her father, one sister Mildred Annette Neagle, step-father John Ewalt, her grandparents, nephews Michael David Neagle and Chris Doss, her mother and father-in-law Harvey and Doris Doss, a brother-in-law J.T. Doss sisters-in-law Sharon Doss and Kathy Doss.

Jan received her education in Hurdland and Edina elementary schools and graduated from Knox County High School.  She lived her entire life in the Baring community raising her family working on the farm.  She was also employed for several years at Hollister and Wal-Mart in Kirksville.  She loved her life and spending time with her family.  She became a member of the Hurdland Methodist Church at an early age.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2018, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.  Reverend Graig Connell will officiate the services.  Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Hurdland, MO.

Music will be Wind Beneath My wings, I Cross My Heart and Amazing Grace.

Casket bearers will be Brian Doss, Tommy Harsell, Brett Harsell, Cory Rohs, Tony Rohs and Kelly Rohs.

Honorary bearers will be her nephews and great nephews.

Visitation will be held after 5 p.m. Saturday, December 22, 2018, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.
