VIRGINIA RUTH PHILLIPS

Virginia Ruth Phillips, age 96, of Kahoka, MO, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Clark County Nursing Home in Kahoka.

Virginia was born September 27, 1922 in Kilbourn, IA, a daughter of Sam and Mamie Logan Lyon.

Virginia is survived by her children: Delores (Richard) Vandenberg of Cedar Rapids, IA, Donna Washburn of Kahoka, MO, Mike (Susan) Beggs of San Antonio, TX, and Randy Phillips of Keosauqua, IA; grandchildren: Raeanne, Rhonda, Roberta, Bruce, Larry, Barry, Avard, Tracy, Lora, Mitch, Kevin, Cheryl, Jody, Shawn, Dustin, Travis, JW and Angie. Also surviving are 39 great grandchildren and 48 great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by a brother and his wife, Mike (Evelyn) Lyon; a son, Ronnie Phillips; a son-in-law, Richard Washburn; a granddaughter, Dawn Kirchner; a great grandson, Ryan Kelley; and a great-great grandson, Dallas Anderson.

All of her kids and grandchildren will miss her signature “trademark” (bright red lipstick) whenever she kissed you goodbye.

Private graveside services will be held Friday, September 27, 2019 at Harness Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, IA.
