Moore Selected to be National FFA Speak Ag Ambassador

After being named State FFA Vice President in April. Andrew Moore, a senior at Clark County R-I High School has had one busy summer. He began his year of service with a week-long training session with his fellow State Officers; his training emphasized team work, strengths training, speech presentation, workshop facilitation, member engagement, and stakeholder engagement.

Preceding that, Moore helped to facilitate Missouri FFA’s Public Speaking Academy, in which he helped members develop and present speeches. Next, State FFA Leadership Camp rolled around. There, Moore spent the week helping to facilitate ten workshops with emphasis on leadership, advocacy, and career development.

Additionally, while at camp, he assisted in fun activities, gave speeches, skits, and nightly reflections with other State Officers. Moore also helped to facilitate the Missouri FFA HYPE (Helping Youth Prepare for Excellence) Academy. HYPE is an agricultural advocacy academy for the top 30 senior FFA members.

There, he led a group of six members in developing a hearing to be presented to state legislators about an agriculture issue. Moore, along with David Lemmon, was one of two Clark County FFA members to be accepted into the academy. Over the summer, Moore also hosted the Missouri FFA Today television program on RFD-TV, which aired August 19th, and assisted in multiple Missouri State Fair events.

As if that’s not enough, Moore was also recently selected as one of 12 State FFA Officers from across the nation to serve as a National Speak Ag Ambassador. He is a part of the first class of ambassadors.

Ambassadors will utilize resources from the National FFA Agricultural Literacy and Advocacy Platform to use in workshops and advocacy events throughout the year. As an Ambassador, Moore will undergo National FFA advocacy training August 29th and 30th, hold responsibilities at National FFA Convention, attend National Ag Day in Washington D.C., create and manage a portfolio of social media advocacy, and continue to develop National FFA’s agricultural literacy and advocacy program.

Moore states “I am just extremely grateful for the opportunities God has given me. I will continue to do everything I can to spread the good news of agriculture and our way of life, make a positive impact on others, and serve Him best I can.”
