BETTY SUE WELLER CHAMBERS

Betty Sue Weller Chambers, 80, of West Point, IA, died Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019 at the Great River Hospice House of West Burlington, IA.

Betty was born May 28, 1939 north of Luray, MO. She was the daughter of Delbert W. and Marjorie M. Locke Weller.

On Dec. 22, 1956 she married Glenn W. Chambers in Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death Oct.16, 2010.

Survivors include, daughter; Debbie (Avery)Hays of West Point, IA; son, Bobby (Cindy) Chambers, West Point, IA, daughter; Glenda (Steven) Smith of Ft. Madison, IA, daughter, Deloris (Dale) Brockman, Palm View, TX.

Glenn and Betty also raised two grandchildren as their own, Summer (Jeff) Fedler, Ft. Madison, IA and Shawn (Gina) Alexander of Hampton, VA.

Her other grandchildren are as follows; Tamera, Lindsey and AJ Hays, Timothy, Bobbie, Becky and Tommy, Kindra, Jay and Consandra.

Plus, many Great-Grandchildren.

Two sisters, Sharon Smith of West Burlington, IA and Lois Herring of Luray, MO, one brother-in-law, Bill (Cindy) Chambers, Bonaparte, IA, one uncle; Gerald (Judy) Sawyer, Kahoka, MO, three aunts, Virginia Johnson, Memphis, Mo, Darlene Mohr, Canton, MO, and LaNora Davis, Arlington, TN and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her three little dogs, Molly, Patti, and Jasmine, whom she called “her girls.”

She was preceded in death by her husband, one infant son, Delbert Gene, her parents, one infant brother, two infant sisters, in-laws, Fred and Pearl Chambers, two sister-in-law’s and five brothers-in-law’s.

One of her many hobbies was crocheting for her family.

She made beautiful afghans and doilies and toys.

Betty and Glenn loved to travel in their camper, going to visit family and seeing the country.

Her most precious time was with the family and especially with the great-grandchildren.

Her remains will be put to rest at the Bethlehem Cemetery, north of Luray, MO at a later date.
