DA’MARKISS STEVEN WAYNE WADENA
Da’Markiss Steven Wayne Wadena, 4 months old, died Saturday, April 1, 2020 at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Waterloo, IA.
He was born on November 28, 2019 in Waterloo, the son of Marc and Brianna Land Wadena, Jr.
Da’Markiss was such a handsome baby boy and in his brief four months he grew and learned so much. He loved his tummy time and bouncing and jumping. Recently starting to scoot around like an army crawl. He loved to go swimming even though it was just bath time.
He listened intently when his mommy read to him and loved listening to music. He laughed and made all kinds of facial expressions and was a smiley baby. He enjoyed watching his daddy play NBA 2K.
Da’Markiss liked watching shows on PBS, some of his favorites were Dinosaur Train, Daniel Tiger Neighborhood and Wild Kratts. He also enjoyed “talking” to his family through video chatting.
He will be forever loved, cherished and remembered by his parents, Marc and Brianna of Waterloo, his brother, Marc Anthony Wadena of Keokuk and his sister Nia Monnie Wadena of Keokuk, all his grandparents, maternal grandma, Shelly Thurman of Kahoka, maternal grandpa, Matt Land of Burlington, IA, paternal grandma, Amanda Hayes of Eagan, MN, maternal great-grandpa, Jim Smith of Kahoka, paternal great-grandma, Jeanette Roberts of Colorado, and paternal great-grandma, Arline Petiford of St. Paul, MN along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandma, Sharon Smith, maternal grandpa, Steve Thurman and his paternal grandpa, Mark Wadena.
Due to the state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public services or visitation at this time.
Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to the Vigen Memorial Home
Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka is assisting family with the arrangements.
