KAY LYON
Kay Lyon, 72, of Palmyra, passed away at 4:10 pm Monday, October 5, 2020 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Kay’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday October 9, 2020 at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.
The Funeral Service will begin at 5:00 PM with Pastor Dewayne Larenson officiating.
Burial will be at Combs Cemetery in Luray, MO.
Kay was born October 26, 1947, in Davenport, IA to Francis Julian Runge and Nellie May Tipton.
She was married to Elvin Lyon on May 29, 1971, in Fort Madison, IA.
He preceded her in death on April 18, 2013.
Survivors include her Son, Greg (Missy) Lyon of Palmyra, MO, David (Christy) Lyon of Montgomery City, MO, Corey (Thom) Jenkins of Kahoka, MO, and Missy Riney of Montrose, IA; one brother Gary (Jo Rae) Runge of Galesburg, IL; grandchildren Travis (Chant) Moss, Shelby Cordray, Kristyn (Ashton) Lynum Young, Cody (Casey) Fort, Emily Lyon, Levi Lyon and Alexis (Matthew) Maher, 5 great- grandchildren and two new arrivals on the way.
Kay was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, brother Steve Runge, sister Donna Fillman, grandfather Carson Wade Houser and stepfather Orville Wayne Hunter.
She was passionate about crafting of all kinds.
Some of her favorites were scrap-booking, dolls, and ceramic figurines.
She served on the Board for the Clark County Mule Festival and was very active in the Eagle Fleet Camping Club.
Kay enjoyed any opportunity to travel.
During her career, Kay served the community as a School Bus Driver and a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Kay attended the Galesburg Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Kahoka.
Pallbearers will be Levi Lyon, Cody Fort, Ashton Lynum-Young, Matt Maher, and Chris Cordray.
Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice.
