Paula Kay Allen, age 46 of Lilburn, Georgia formerly of Lone Tree, Iowa and Wyaconda, Missouri died at her residence on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
She was born at Louisville, Kentucky on May 24, 1961, the daughter of Otto E. and Beverly Ewing-Cohen.
On November 22, 1982 at Washington, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Ronald D. Allen.
Surviving is her husband, Ronald D. Allen of Lilburn, Georgia; two children, Lindsay and Nicholas Allen both of Lilburn, Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Amber Troyer of Lilburn, Georgia; her step-father, Bud Nichols of Wyaconda, Missouri; one brother, Greg Cohen of Frisco, Texas, and her mother-in-law, Wilma Blair of Iowa City, Iowa.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Mrs. Allen graduated from Keokuk High School in 1979 and graduated at the top of her class from the University of Iowa College of Nursing in 2004. She was employed as a Hospice Nurse with United Home Care. She lived most of her life in Iowa and Missouri and had also lived in Florida and South Carolina. She was an active member of the Luxomni Baptist Church and Choir where she sang many solos and duets. There she also helped instruct the children’s choir. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and writing and was very dedicated to nursing and helping people. She was a member of several nursing organizations.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 at the Hudson Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. The Reverend Ernest Dietrich officiated the services. Burial was at the Pauline Cemetery in Rutledge, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Ronald D. Allen, Nicholas Allen, Greg Cohen, Larry Ewing, Rod Blair and Johnathan Troyer.
