Palmyra R-1 School District Announces Hiring of Palmyra Middle School Principal, Kylee Meyer

Palmyra, MO – February 18, 2026 – The Palmyra R-1 School District is pleased to announce Mrs. Kylee Meyer as the next Principal of Palmyra Middle School beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Meyer is currently completing her third year as Assistant Principal at Palmyra Middle School. During her time as Assistant Principal, she has focused on building strong systems that support both students and staff, strengthening behavior expectations and accountability practices.

Prior to serving as Assistant Principal, Mrs. Meyer was a first-grade teacher at Palmyra Elementary School. Before returning to the Palmyra R-1 School District, she served as a Parents As Teachers (PAT) Supervisor for the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (WERDCC) and PAT State Consultant for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
(DESE).

A graduate of Palmyra High School, Mrs. Meyer has deep roots in the community. She earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from Hannibal-LaGrange University.

Mrs. Meyer began her teaching career in 2005 as a third-grade teacher at New London Elementary. She later joined Hannibal Public Schools, where she served as the Missouri Preschool Project (MPP) preschool teacher. She went on to serve as a Parents as Teachers Parent Educator for Hannibal Public Schools and Teen Parenting Program Coordinator and ultimately held her certification with Parents as Teachers for 15 years. Mrs. Meyer became the Preschool Director/Children’s Church Administrator of Cornerstone Church of Marion in 2009 and served in that capacity for 5 years.

“Kylee brings a diverse background of educational experiences, upholds high standards, and has the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and community stakeholders. It is exciting to have her step into this leadership role for our school district.” Superintendent Jason Harper.

Mrs. Meyer and her husband, Brent, have four children: Emma, Delaina, Donavan, and Ruby. The Meyer family is actively involved in their church and local community. They attend The Crossing in Hannibal, Missouri, and participate in Cowboy Church ministries. Their family is also heavily involved in 4-H, the Missouri High School Rodeo Association, and numerous school activities and sports with their four children.
