KC Eagles Win Opener Against Marion County

Knox County broke open a close March 24, 2026 game with Marion County and captured an 11-1 win in five innings. Nathan Penn turned in a two hit, three RBI day for the Eagles.
Creighton Karhoff was 3-3 with three runs scored and four stolen bases Logan Wright was 2-2 with two runs scored and two batted in. Cooper Clair had a hit and two RBI.
Jace Frost pitched well for Knox County. Frost fanned ten Mustang batters with no walks on four hits. Jace Frost went the five inning distance on the mound allowing one earned run.
Creighton Karhoff had a one out hit in the KCHS first inning. Nathan Penn plated Karhoff for a one run lead after the first full inning. The Eagles pressured the Mustang defense in their second inning but failed to score.
Marion County pitcher Nathan Wright struck out two batters with runners on second and third base to keep his team close. Nathan Wright had a one out hit in the Marion County third inning and scored off Paden Olson’s RBI hit knotting the score at one all.
Creighton Karhoff singled off Marion County reliever Quentin Clark in the bottom of the third. Nathan Penn delivered a two out RBI hit for a 2-1 KCHS lead after three full innings.
Logan Wright led off the decisive Knox County fifth inning with a base hit. Cooper Clair singled and stole second then third base. Creighton Karhoff singled then Nathan Penn drove in a run with a base knock.

Logan Wright turned in a two RBI hit. Cooper Clair reached on a fielder’s choice. The winning run crossed the plate for the 11-1 win in five innings.
Knox County scored 11 runs on13 hits. The Eagles limited themselves to three left on base for the day. Logan Wriedt was 2-3 for Knox County with two runs scored and two batted in.
Blake Shahan was 2-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Every batter in the Eagle lineup had at least one hit in a balanced team effort.
Marion County scored one run on four hits. Nathan Wright was 2-3 at bat for the Mustangs with a run scored. Paden Olson drove in the Marion County run.
Nathan Wright pitched the first two innings for Marion County striking out two with one walk on three hits. Quentin Click pitched two and two thirds innings for the Mustangs. Click allowed ten runs on ten hits. Eight runs charged to the Mustang reliever were earned.
Marion County hurlers only walked two batters in the five inning contest. Eagle batters made contact, but the ball in play and ran the bases aggressively.
