Drones Aid in Search for Missing Juvenile
KNOX COUNTY, Mo. — A coordinated search effort involving multiple agencies led to the safe recovery of a missing juvenile Wednesday morning, April 15, west of Baring.
The search began at approximately 9:30 a.m., with responders working to locate the child.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol assisted in the effort, deploying two drones to help cover ground and provide aerial visibility during the search.
Trooper Hurley was among those on scene, operating one of the drones as part of the coordinated response.
Additional assistance was requested from Missouri Community Action Network (CAM) Search and Rescue, a volunteer-based organization that responds to missing person cases across the state. The team was dispatched but ultimately called off before arriving after the juvenile was located.
A volunteer firefighter with the Baring Volunteer Fire Department found the child safely, bringing the search to a close around 11:30 a.m.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the scene.
Authorities did not release additional details about the circumstances of the incident, but confirmed the juvenile was located without injury.
