Wild Tigers Pound Out Win Over Higbee

Brashear scored 14 runs on ten hits, powering to a 14-2, six inning win over Higbee (3-11) in baseball play at Kirksville High School. The contest was moved due wo wet grounds at Higbee.
Cole Erwin and Quincy Chapman drilled one out RBI hits for a 1-0 Brashear (7-2) first inning lead. Bailyn Halley plated Kienii Scott with another run producing hit in the Wild Tiger second. Jacob Love reached on an error and stole home during the second inning rally.
Chase Price led off the Tiger second inning with a double. Brashear hurler Bailyn Halley fanned two out of the next three batters, keeping the Wild Tigers up 4-0 after two complete innings.
Cole Erwin hit a fourth inning three run homer, scoring Bailyn Halley and Koenn Stewart. Cale Nelson doubled starting off the Higbee fourth and later scored on a wild pitch.
Brashear led 7-1 after four innings. Bailyn Halley pitched the first four innings with seven strikeouts, and no walks on two hits. One unearned run was charged to the Brashear starter.
Brashear put the game on ice with a seven run sixth inning. Gus Noe doubled and scored a Brashear run. Kienii Scott singled home another Wild Tiger tally. Jacob Love reached on an error and scored.
Cole Erwin blasted an inside the park, grand slam homer for the 14-2 lead. Koenn Stewart pitched the final two innings with three strikeouts, no walks and one run on two hits.
Tyler Diedrich reached on an error with one out in the Higbee sixth. Koenn Stewart notched the final two outs for the hold. Higbee scored two runs on four hits. Cale Nelson was 2-3 for the Tigers with a run scored.
Blake Boggs pitched the first five and 2-3 innings for Higbee. Boggs struck out five with three walks on eight hits. Eleven runs were charged to the Tiger starter.
Corbin Imhoff finished the game for Higbee allowing three runs on three hits.
Brashear scored 14 runs on ten hits. Bailyn Halley was the winning pitcher. Halley scored three Wild Tiger runs. Cole Erwin went 4-4 at bat with two homers and eight RBI. Kienii Scott was 2-4 at bat with a run scored and two batted in.
The Wild Tigers announced that freshman first baseman and pitcher Cade Erwin suffered a season ending ankle injury during their 11-1 win over Marion County. The injury required surgical repair. Erwin was able to attend the 14-2 win over Higbee.
