Upcoming Planned Roadwork for Marion County

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced a new round of highway maintenance work scheduled across northeast Missouri from May 11 through May 22, including multiple projects affecting Marion County and surrounding areas.
Motorists can view all road closures and planned work on the department’s Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org/map/.
Transportation officials said inclement weather may alter schedules, and additional moving
operations may take place throughout the region. Drivers are urged to buckle up, avoid
distractions, slow down and move over when approaching work zones.

Marion County

  • U.S. Route 24 Outer Road — May 14: Closed for patching operations from County
    Road 313 to Missouri Route 6, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • U.S. Route 24/U.S. Route 36 eastbound — May 13: Lane restriction for bridge maintenance from Route J to Beech Road in Ralls County, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Missouri Route 79 northbound (Mark Twain Avenue) — April 22 through July 1:  Closed for the Hannibal stormwater construction project from North Street to Reservoir  Street. The closure began at 12 a.m. April 22 and will continue through 12 a.m. July 1.
  • Missouri Route 168 — May 13: Closed for patching operations from Route Z in Shelby County to Route D in Marion County, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Route D — May 11: Closed for seal coat operations from Missouri Route 156 to Missouri Route 168, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Route M — May 12: Closed for seal coat operations from Route D to Route A, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
