Palmyra Boys Golf Repeats as Class 2 State Champion

Palmyra High School Golf State Champions

Palmyra boys golf is back on top — again.

The Panthers repeated as Class 2 state champions Tuesday, capturing their second straight state title with a two-day team score of 642 at Bogey Hills Country Club.

Palmyra finished eight strokes ahead of runner-up St. Vincent, which carded a 650. Monroe City placed third with a 656, followed by El Dorado Springs at 658.

Senior Skeeter Kroeger led the Panthers with a standout final round, firing a 3-under 69 to help Palmyra pull away from the field. Kroeger finished fifth individually with a two-day total of 148. Abram Getz also turned in a strong state performance for Palmyra, finishing 22nd with a 159.  Jersey Cissna and Brody Sublette each finished tied for 49th. Cissna carded a 168, while Sublette also shot 168. Tony White finished 54th with a 169. The balanced effort gave Palmyra enough depth to hold off a strong field and secure back-to-back state championships. The state title continues an impressive run for the Panthers’ program, which has established itself as one of the top Class 2 boys golf teams in Missouri.
