Baring Man Charged With Child Molestation in Scotland County
MEMPHIS, Mo. — A Baring man has been charged in Scotland County Circuit Court with a felony count of third-degree child molestation involving a child younger than 14.
Kevin R. Frederick is charged with third-degree child molestation, a class B felony. The case, 26SE-CR00025, was filed June 9 in the Associate Division of the 1st Judicial Circuit.
According to court documents, the charge stems from allegations that occurred in Scotland County between Jan. 1, 2025, and Jan. 26, 2025. The alleged victim was 13 years old at the time.
A probable cause statement filed in the case states the Missouri Department of Social Services Children’s Division requested assistance from the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team following allegations involving Frederick. The child was later interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center of Northeast Missouri, according to court documents.
A criminal summons was issued June 9. Frederick is scheduled to appear at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, in the Scotland County courtroom, 117 S. Market St., Room 200, in Memphis.
The summons states that failure to appear could result in a warrant being issued for Frederick’s arrest.
The charge is only an allegation. Frederick is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
