GARY WAYNE COUCH

Gary Wayne Couch, 81, of Milan, Missouri passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at his home.

Gary was born on May 21, 1945, in Milan to Thomas Allen and Violet (Glispie) Couch.

On November 11, 1955, he married the love of his life, Florence Ellen Couch, after 55 years of marriage, she preceded him in death. Gary was also preceded by: his parents; and brothers, Gerald “Tuff” Couch, James Couch, and Larry Couch.

Gary was survived by: his children, Allen Couch of Milan, Jane Marie Clinch of Sedalia, Missouri, and Melinda Daniels of Moberly; Sons-in-law, Tim Daniels of Brookfield and Harold Clinch of Trenton; Grandchildren, Gary Allen (Nikita) Couch, Desirae (Dakota) Cox, Devon (Jessica) Clinch, and Sarah (Keeon) Weber; Great grandchildren, Graecyn Couch, Mya Gulling, Autumn McCrary, Blayke Couch, and Ellie Weber; Siblings, Roger (Teresa) Couch, Steve (Christy) Couch, Fred (Anita) Couch, Virginia (William) Ford, Genevieve Couch, Janet Couch, Lisa (Mike) Moore, Liz Decker, and Bob Couch; and many nieces and nephews.

Gary was a lifelong resident of Milan, graduating from Milan C-II in 1963. After high school he farmed for his parents and worked at the Milan sale barn for 9 years. He then farmed his own farm while also working on a ranch and for numerous other farmers throughout the years. Gary loved to farm, he also loved his International Harvester’s. He also enjoyed going square dancing with Ellen, playing pitch and checkers, and having cookouts with the family. He was very family-oriented, taking care of Ellen and spending time with his kids and grandkids was most important to him. Gary was a member of the Cornerstone Church and past member of MFA.

A funeral service for Gary will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Ruschmeier- Smith Funeral Home in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for two hours prior to the service, starting at 9:00 AM.
