Rams Roll Early, Blank La Plata 10-0
QUEEN CITY — Schuyler County wasted no time asserting control Tuesday, scoring early and often in a 10-0 win over La Plata.
The Rams erupted in the first inning, stringing together a series of hits to plate five runs and seize immediate momentum. Lathan Martin, Colin Oliver and Marcus Miller each delivered RBI singles during the surge, setting the tone for the day.
Schuyler County kept the pressure on in the second inning, adding five more runs to push the lead to 10-0. Caden Veatch highlighted the frame with a two-run single, while Brody Weaver and Gage Brownell each drove in runs as the Rams capitalized on walks, hit batters and aggressive base running.
On the mound, Martin was in control throughout. The right-hander allowed just two hits over five shutout innings, striking out four while keeping La Plata off balance.
At the plate, Martin and Veatch led the way with two hits apiece, while Veatch drove in a team-high two runs. Oliver and Miller added key contributions in the opening inning rally.
Schuyler County also made its presence felt on the bases, swiping seven steals and consistently putting pressure on La Plata’s defense.
Defensively, the Rams were sharp, turning a double play and committing no errors behind their pitching staff.
