AMANDA JO FAGAN

Amanda Jo Fagan, age 41, passed away unexpectedly on March 27, 2026 in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born April 30, 1984 in St. Joseph, Mo. She is the daughter of Gary and Janet (Clouser) Fagan. She was welcomed home by her big brother Jason.

Amanda began her education at Maysville R-1 and graduated from Knox County in May of 2002. She continued her education at Missouri Valley College, Marshall, MO and graduated in May 2006 with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation Administration. She graduated from Western Governors University in March 2022 with her Masters of Science in Management and Leadership. She has also attained many credentials in the insurance field.

After college Amanda lived in Chillicothe and then Burlington, KS where she worked for Elliot Insurance and which became Trustpoint Insurance group. In 2011 she moved to the Lake of the Ozarks to work for Golden Rule Insurance as a CSR and later a CIC. She continued this role until becoming a loss control representative for Illinois Casualty Company in 2018. She was currently a Loss Control Team Leader for Illinois Casualty and a server for Shorty Pants Lakeside in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Amanda had a heart for her friends, family, and her community. She chaired many community fundraisers through the years since she graduated from high school. Amanda has served as the Professional Business Women’s fund raising Chair and Vice- President, Treasurer and Past President of Community Foundation of the Lake, a major advocate of Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. She was the Camden County Survivorship Chair and past Team Development Chair, past Co-Chair and committee member of the Coffey County, Kansas relay and participant in Knox county, Saline county, and Livingston County in Missouri. She was on the TAG Team and membership drive for the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce. She was involved in many golf tournaments for lake area causes.

Amanda loved playing golf, being on the lake, reading, spending time with her family and friends. Volunteering and caring for others was her life. She enjoyed hiking, biking, running and working out. She loved trips with her friends and traveling, especially to California to see her brother & “sister”, niece and nephew. Playing golf at Pebble Beach was one of the golfing pinnacles of her life. She was an avid sports fan—KC Chiefs, St Louis Cardinals and KC Royals, basketball, hockey and soccer. She loved all sports.

Amanda is survived by her loving parents, Gary and Janet Fagan, brother Jason “J’ and “sister” Elisabeth, niece Kaylee and nephew Ethan Fagan, Grandmother Joan Clouser-DeHart, uncles David (Patti) Fagan of Marceline, Kevin (Glory) Fagan of Cameron, Uncle John “Butch” Clouser, Plattsburg, Gary Clouser of St. Joseph; aunts Joan (Clair) Harrison of Big Spring Texas, Candi (Rick) Scott of Maysville; cousins and families, Megan Lindner and children, Kathryn (Phillip) Schwarz and sons, Lucas (Taylor) Fagan and children, Marc (Katherine) Fagan and children, Ashley Fagan and children, Jayme Scott and daughter, Chavon Harrison and son, Anna Harrison, Josh Scott and Robbie Scott. Her special family Josh, Chelsea, Eleanor & Loretta Johnson and a host of amazing “sisters at the lake”, and a host of friends and lives she touched.

Amanda was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Joan Cox and Ida Burris; grandparents Dwayne and Geneva Fagan, Charles (Pint) Clouser, Paul DeHart and Larry and Beth Primm; Aunt Karen L. Fagan; cousins Jonathan Fagan, Andy Lindner, Rance Fagan and Paisley Scott.

Amanda loved deeply and fiercely. She cared immensely for her family, friends, and her community. The family requests memorials to honor her memory to CADV-Citizens against domestic violence, Kid’s Harbor, Community Foundation of the Lake, Branches of the Lake.

Friends will be received on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life with a time of tribute and sharing of memories at 3:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott- Millard Funeral Homes in Osage Beach. Following the Celebration of Life, the family will be available for further visitation.
