Holland, Mckinney Lead Dominant Girls Showing For Scotland County At Truman State Classic
KIRKSVILLE — Scotland County’s girls team delivered a standout performance Tuesday at the Truman State Bulldog High School Classic, piling up event wins across the track and field.
Charlee Holland led the way with a trio of top-three finishes, including wins in the long jump (5.28m) and triple jump (10.35m), while also sprinting to third in the 100-meter dash (13.28). Deana McKinney added another individual title in the 100 hurdles (17.37) and followed with a runner-up finish in the 300 hurdles and second in the high jump.
The distance crew was equally strong, as Reagan Brewer captured first in the 800 (2:37.76), and Kierstyn Moore won the 3200 (13:27.38) while also placing fourth in the 1600. Scotland County’s 4×800 relay added another victory, and the 4×100 and 4×400 relays both finished in the top three.
In the field events, Matyson Buford added a runner-up finish in the shot put, while Gabrielle Hamlin placed fourth in the javelin to round out a dominant day for the Lady Tigers.
On the boys side, Scotland County saw a third-place finish from the 4×100 relay and a sixth-place effort from Silas Williams in the 3200 to highlight the results.
