Highland Gets Past Mustangs

Marion County (0-9) scored a single run on a first inning passed ball. Heath Feldkamp took care of the rest, tossing a five inning no hitter at the Mustangs during May 1, 2026 varsity baseball play at Marion County.

The Cougars improved to 3-10 on the season with an 11-1 victory. Nathan Wright scored with two out in the first inning. Wright drew a one out walk.

Highland tied the contest when Casey De Clue singled Heath Feldkamp home with none out in the first frame. Brock Schneider and Casey DeClue executed a double steal for the go ahead run during a three run third inning.

Highland scored five times in their fourth inning. Brock Schneider singled Michael Walter home for a 5-1 Cougar edge. Casey DeClue doubled home two more Highland runs.

Dawson Hedges doubled Casey DeClue home for an 8-1 advantage after four full innings. Highland scored three more times in their fifth for the 11-1 victory.

Highland scored 11 runs on seven hits and one error. Brock Schneider was 2-4 with three runs scored and three more batted in. Casey DeClue went 3-4 with a run scored and four batted in.

Heath Feldkamp struck out 14 Mustang batters allowing an unearned run with no hits and two bases on balls for the complete game five inning win. Three different Marion County pitchers combined for five strikeouts, six walks and seven hits. Seven of the Highland runs were earned.
