Kahoka Collision & Restoration Opens to Meet Growing Local Need

By Emily Bontrager

A new business is now serving the community with a strong focus on safety, education, and quality service. Kahoka Collision & Restoration officially opened its doors in January 2026, bringing experience and decades of industry knowledge to the area.

The shop is located just south of Kahoka at 24115 State Route 81, Suite 1. The business is co-owned by Brad and Audrie Howe and Brent and Miranda Goings. The business currently employs three full-time team members and one part-time employee, all working to meet a growing local need.

“We decided to do this because it is a need in the community,” Brad Howe said.

Overseeing daily operations is shop manager Mike Frederick of Memphis, Missouri, who brings nearly 30 years of experience in the collision and restoration industry.

Frederick began his career in 1996 through a school program in Indianapolis and has built an extensive background in the field.

“In 1998, I started with Walker Motors in Memphis, owned by Brent Walker. I opened my own shop, Fredwreck’s Collision in 2007, and now I’m here,” Frederick stated.

Kahoka Collision & Restoration offers a wide range of services, including full collision repair, minor mechanical repairs, paint matching and refinishing, AC services, and full vehicle restoration. While the services are widespread, the business emphasizes something more: helping customers understand the repair process and ensuring their safety on the road.

“We try to educate as much as we can through the whole process,” Frederick said. “Even if we don’t have the job, we still want you in a safe car.”

Frederick noted that modern vehicles have become increasingly complex, making proper assessment and repair more important than ever.

“It used to be a fender bender was no big deal,” Frederick said. “Now, there are so many computers and sensors involved in a car. Technology has changed a ton, and it’s made the car more difficult to repair.”

Frederick strongly encourages vehicle owners to have their vehicles inspected after any accident, no matter how minor it may seem.

“The biggest recommendation I have is, whether you take the vehicle to our shop or the next guy’s shop, have it assessed because you don’t know from minor damage to major damage if that car is safe to drive,” Frederick said.

Safety remains a top priority for the business, and the team is committed to openly discussing repairs and sharing their knowledge so customers can make informed decisions.

Kahoka Collision & Restoration also works closely with insurance providers to help streamline the repair process.

“We are fortunate here in town that most of our local insurance agents are very easy to get along with,” Frederick said.

The shop is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Customers are encouraged to call 660- 727-6767 or stop by with any questions regarding collision repair or restoration services.

“We want to get the absolute best repair for our customers as possible,” Frederick said.

With a commitment to service, safety, and education, Kahoka Collision & Restoration is ready to serve the community and provide quality service to the area.
