Canton Pulls Out One Run Victory Over Brashear

Aron Taylor homered in the Canton sixth inning and drew a game winning RBI walk in the eighth helping Canton to a 5-4 extra inning win over Brashear. The September 6 contest featured Abby McKim stroking a bases clearing triple in the Brashear sixth.
Tori Niemann and Danielle Caldwell scored the game’s first two runs in the home half of inning one. A walk one passed ball and two Brashear errors contributed to the 2-0 Canton lead after one inning of play.
Brashear hurler Christina Scudder pitched around a Danielle Caldwell single and an error during a scoreless third inning.
The visiting Lady Tigers finally broke through against Canton pitcher Kristyn Caldwell in the fourth inning. Hailee Kelsey singled with two out and scored on Christina Scudder’s RBI hit. Scudder fanned two Canton batters, stranding Canton runners on second and third base in the fifth inning.
Carmen Woods and Jessi Hill reached base with one out in the Brashear sixth inning. Kristyn Caldwell fanned Hailee Kelsey for the second out. Christina Scudder was intentionally passed loading the bases. Abby McKim burned the home team with a three run triple putting Brashear up by a 4-2 margin.
Canton answered when Aron Taylor belted a two run homer scoring Lindsey Lillard for a 4-1 Canton edge after six innings. Carmen Woods singled leading off the BHS eighth inning, but was thrown out attempting to steal.
Jessie Logsdon and Kristyn Caldwell recorded Canton hits in the bottom of the eighth inning. Lindsey Lillard reached on an error loading the bases with none out. Aron Taylor walked on a 3-1 pitch forcing in the winning run.
Canton scored five runs on eight hits unofficially. Kristyn Caldwell struck out 11 batters in eight innings pitched for the victory. Christina Scudder fanned six batters in seven innings plus, and took the defeat.
