Alvin B. Brubaker

    Alvin B. Brubaker, 78, of Baring, Missouri, died Friday, December 21, 2007, at his residence west of Baring.

    Alvin was born March 20, 1929, in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, the son of Levi and Leah Bauman Brubaker.

    On November 5, 1949 Alvin married Verna Horst and to this union eight children were born. They moved to Knox County, Missouri in 1976 to farm and make their home.

    Alvin was a member of the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri.

    He is survived by his wife, Verna Brubaker of Baring, Missouri; eight children, Edwin and his wife Esther Brubaker of Memphis, Missouri, Miriam and her husband Paul Reiff of Mohnton, Pennsylvania, Rachel and her husband Marlin High of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, Ruth and her husband Edwin Horst of Memphis, Missouri, Mary and her husband Mark Martin of Rutledge, Missouri, Martha and her husband Marlin Martin of Loyal, Wisconsin, Raymond and his wife Julia Brubaker of Center View, Missouri, and Linda and her husband Ralph Burkholder of Baring, Missouri; forty-nine grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; two brothers, George and his wife Susie Brubaker of Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania, and William Brubaker of Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania; a sister, Lena and her husband Harold Fox of East Earl, Pennsylvania; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

    Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Leah Brubaker; two brothers, Allen Brubaker his twin, who passed away, in infancy, in 1930 and Henry Brubaker; three sisters, Nancy Miller, Mabel Kilmer and Eva Beiler and a granddaughter, Elaine Brubaker.

    Funeral services were Thursday, December 27, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at the Millport Mennonite Church south of Rutledge, Missouri. Burial was in the Millport Mennonite Cemetery south of Rutledge, Missouri.  Abner Oberholtzer, Titus Martin, Carl Hoover and Earl Oberholtzer officiated and casket bearers were Philip Brubaker, Barry Reiff, Nelson High, Daniel Horst, Michael Martin and Justin Brubaker.
