Larry Franklin Ridings, 80, of Palmyra, MO, passed away at 7:08 PM, Monday, May 25, 2026, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO. Pastor Nathan Meyers will officiate. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery in Perry, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Larry’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Friday, May 29, 2026, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, MO.

Larry was born October 3, 1945, in Hannibal, MO, to Walter Franklin Ridings and Hazel Lucille Price Ridings.

Survivors include his children, Kevin Wayne Ridings, Bobby (Bo Bo) Dale (Jackie) Ridings, Tina (Tinkerbell) Marie Bolton (Steve Flores), stepson, Rodney Eugene
(Debbie) Jones, grandkids, Damon Ridings, Chambriel Ridings, ChloyAnn Ridings, Chantel Ridings, Jackson Ridings, Trey Hawkins, Alexis Bolton, Arianna Bolton,
Jaylen Bolton, great grandchildren, Olivia Bolton, Hailey Bolton, Zeniyah Bolton, Zeniyah Bolton, Aliyah Bolton, siblings, Linda Dodd, Calvin (Priscilla) Ridings, Doretta
Lott and special niece, Alisha Jones, has served as his caregiver for the past 10 years, as well as her husband David Jones and children Summer Clark, Sayla Jones and Charles Marshall.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, June Heddinghaus, brother, Lafayette “Butch” Ridings, grandson, Jordan Rossman, and his best friend Bobby “Happy” Heathman.
Larry worked at Huck’s Manufacturing and the Davis & Clever Chicken Factory.
Larry enjoyed playing the acoustic guitar, singing, and writing songs. He spent much of his life traveling, making connections wherever he went, and enjoying life’s simple pleasures — music, good company, a few beers and Las Vegas. He was also an artist.
He had a love for the outdoors, especially digging for goldenseal and ginseng root.
Known for living on the edge, Larry was witty, ornery, happy, and fun to be around. He was often the life of the party and never met a stranger. KFC was his favorite place to grab a meal.

He will be remembered for his music, his easygoing nature, and the friendships he made along the way.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Maple Lawn Nursing Home.
