Tigers Move to 6-1 In Conference With Homecoming Win

Matt Thomas led three Tigers in double figures with 19 points while Brashear made it a 2008 Homecoming sweep with a 78-45 victory over Novinger in February 15 action.
Brashear (15-7, 6-1 in the Tri-County Conference) jumped out to a 20-10 first quarter lead and never were headed. The Tigers were up 45-22 at the half. Brashear scored at least 20 points per quarter during the first three quarters of action.
Matt Thomas scored a game high 19 Tiger points. Kale Watson pumped in 18 Brashear points. Trae Treasure was the third Tiger in double figures with 13 points.
Nine of the ten Brashear players dressed for the game scored and all ten participated. Anthony Ambrosia was the next high point man for Brashear with seven fourth quarter points. Justin Hazen and Ryan Ferdig scored six each.
Brashear was 13-18 from the free throw line. Novinger sank six of 15 free throws on the night. Kiley Watson scored four Tiger points. David Anderson had three points and Jacob Owen added two points.
Aric Luman led Novinger with 11 points. Caleb Dotson and Cory Smith scored nine Wildcat points each. Brashear hosts North Shelby on February 19 at the Tiger Senior Night.
Brashear goes for a conference second place finish when they travel to Macon County on February 22. The Raiders sport a double digit victory record.
Second seeded Brashear takes on seven seed Green City in the first round of Class 1 District 6 play on Saturday, February 23. The Linn County boys’ district championship game is on Friday, February 29 at 6:30PM.
