Lady Indians Outlast Schuyler Co.
Clark County’s Lady Indians haven’t been able to put away too many teams this season, but on Friday, they were able to outlast the Schulyer County Lady Rams in a high-scoring matchup.
The Lady Rams’ outside shooting was deadly early on, as they rained in three-pointers. But Clark County had five Lady Indians score in the first quarter, and after one,. the game was knotted at 16.
Clark County took a 10-point lead in the second period, but Schuyler fought their way back into the game, closing the gap to a 33-31 Indian lead at the half.
In the third period, the Indians saw another lead evaporate, as the Lady Rams took control, 49-47.
The Lady Indians would score 23 points in the final eight minutes to finally put away the Lady Rams. Britni Bertelli buried six free throws in the quarter to pull ahead, as Clark County won 70-61.
Cady Flood had another strong performance with 20 points, followed by Brooke Wheeler with 19. Chelsea Edmondson turned in 11 points on the night, and Britni Bertelli added eight. Megan Brennan had six, and Caitlyn Davis and Leighann Moulder added four each.
The Lady Indians are now 7-9 on the season, and 2-2 in the Tri-Rivers Conference.
