Lady Indians Fall To Keokuk
Clark County’s Lady Indians became the latest area team to fall to the Keokuk Lady Chief, who are enjoying a ten-plus game winning streak. Clark County held the score close early on, but the Chiefs were too much of the Big Red ladies.
Megan Brennan had four points in first quarter, and Cady Flood had three, but after the first period, the Lady Indians trailed 10-7
Clark County performed better in the second, putting ten points on the board. Cady Flood added another four, and Megan Brennan, Caitlyn Davis and Leighanne Moulder each had two, but Keokuk led 22-17 at the half.
The Lady Indians could only manage four point in the third period, and that was enough to tip the balance toward Keokuk for good. Chelsea Edmondson had two, and Cady Flood hit two free throws, and after three, Clark County trailed 38-21.
Clark County had a good fourth quarter, with five Lady Indians scoring, but Keokuk kept the pressure on and outscored the Indians again. Cady Flood had five in the final quarter, and Britni Bertelli had four. Brooke Wheeler got her only three points of the game at the free throw line, and Leighanne Moulder added one, but Keokuk would come out on top 54-36.
Cady Flood led the Lady Indians’ scoring with 14. Megan Brennan had eight, Britni Bertelli had four. Leighanne Moulder and Brooke Wheeler had three each, and Caitlyn Davis and Chelsea Edmondson each had two.
