HELEN L. QUEEN

Helen Louise Queen, age 97, of Edina, Missouri, died Monday, October 26, 2009, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, Missouri.
She was born on February 9, 1912, at Knox City, Missouri, the daughter of W.H. and Mollie Hoisington Cheatum.
On November 20, 1932, at Kirksville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Richard Queen and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1987.
Also preceding her in death were her parents, three brothers Carl, Merl and Harold Cheatum, and two sisters Vera Woodard and Maude Raymer.
Surviving are one daughter Margie Louise Moore of Carmi, Illinois, one son Robert Dale Queen and wife Carolyn of East Peoria, Illinois, five grandchildren, Dale Moore, Darel Moore, and Donna Matz and husband Henry all of Carmi, Illinois, Steven Richard Queen and wife Nancy and Lori Susan Sarraf and husband Sam both of Peoria, Illinois, nine great grandchildren, Hallie Moore, Joseph Matz, Hannah, Logan, Harrison, Lauren and Louis Queen, Noelle and Paige Sarraf, and several nieces and nephews including Dorothy Wheeler of Edina, Missouri.
Helen was raised in Knox County where she received her education in rural schools.
She was a housewife and homemaker. She and her husband resided west of Edina, Missouri. Helen was a member of the First Christian Church in Edina. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri. Officiating the services was Reverend Maynard Blackwood. Burial was in the Linville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Sam Sarraf, Steve Queen, Darel Moore, Henry Matz, Don Woodward and Bill Cheatum.
Visitation was Wednesday, October 28, 2009, from 1 p.m. till time of services at 2 p.m. in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri.
