Lady Indians Dominate Putnam County, Fall To Schuyler County
The Clark County Lady Indians dominated the Lady Midgets of Putnam County at home in Kahoka last week, rolling up 51 points in the contest.
Clark County started off hot, scoring 14 first quarter points while holding Putnam to only 3. Morgan Bertelli led the quarter scoring with six.
Megan Brennan led the Lady Indians 13 point second quarter with five points, and at the half, Clark County led 27-10.
Brennan kept the pressure on in the third, scoring seven of the Lady Indians’ 15 points as Clark County built their lead to 43-15 after three, on their way to a 51-30 win.
Megan Brennan led the Lady Indians with 14 overall, followed by Morgan Bertelli with eight. Brooke Wheeler, Chelsea Edmondson and Cady Flood had six each. Christina Wood had four and Hannah Trump added one point in the win.
On Friday, the Lady Indians travelled to Schuyler County to take on the Lady Rams.
Both teams fought hard in the first period, but Schuyler had an 11-10 edge after one quarter.
The Lady Indians took the lead in the second quarter, and steals late put them up 20-15 at the half.
Schuyler County responded with a big quarter in the third, outscoring Clark County 15-6 to take a 30-26 lead.
The Lady Indians trailed by 10 midway through the final period, then cut the lead to fou, 42-38, with a minute left. Free throws late gave Schuyler County a 50-38 win.
