Irwin Schwandt

  Irwin Schwandt, age 69, of Rutledge, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015, in Hudson, Florida.

Born May 6, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, Irwin was the son of Ludwig and Ruth Feilder Schwandt.  Irwin united in marriage with Naomi Gibson on November 26, 2012, in Downing, Missouri.

Surviving are his wife Naomi Schwandt of Rutledge, MO, three children, Dennis Schwandt of Iowa Falls, IA, Kristen Pierson and Chad of Hubbard, IA and Veronica Barger of Iowa Falls, IA, two step-children, Dan Cavenaugh of Rutledge, Missouri, and Bonnie Schick and Dennis of Peotone, IL, five grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren; one sister, Donna Harms of Des Moines, IA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Irwin was preceded in death by his parents and one great granddaughter Pasiley Murray.

Irwin received his education in Iowa where he lived most of his life farming and was a truck driver.  For the past 10 years he has resided in Rutledge, MO.  Loved the outdoors and was a train enthusiast.  He enjoyed collecting trains and had his own train he took to fairs and festivals in the area.

Memorial services were held February 21, 2015, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri with Reverend Jim Brown officiating.  Music was provided by Elaine Forrester, soloist and Rita Worthington, organist.  Musical selections were “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace”.
