Mary Jean (Long) Moon of Canton, Mo., died Thursday, Feb. 04, 2016 peacefully in her home. She was 87.
She was born Sept. 5, 1929, in rural Canton, Mo., to Howard and Mildred Long. She married Eston Moon on Feb. 1, 1947.
Mrs. Moon graduated from Canton High School in 1946. She supported her husband who was a lifelong farmer in Gregory Landing and helped raise their two boys, John and Terry.
Mrs. Moon is survived by John Moon and his wife, C.J., formerly Kahoka, Mo., and currently of Denver, Colo.; and Terry Moon and his wife, Julie of Canton; six grandchildren, Terra Logsdon (Mark) of Eldridge, Iowa, Kate Moon (Jordan) of Wheaton, Ill., Corey Moon and his daughter Bria of Canton, Mo., Audrey Moon of Byron, Ill., Neal Moon of Rockford, Ill., and Kelsey Moon of Canton; her sister-in-law Barb Carskadon of Canton; nieces, nephews and many friends.
Her parents, her brother Charlie and sister Lutie, her husband and her grandson, William Moon, preceded her in death.
Graveside services were held Saturday, Feb. 6 for Eston and Mary Moon.
