Elmo F. Tuley, 97, of Lewistown, Missouri died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at the Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown.
The son of Ernest and Crystal Hamilton Tuley, Elmo was born on February 6, 1919, at Monticello, Missouri.
Elmo united in marriage with Vivian K. Meyer on February 21, 1948, at Hannibal, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2009.
Elmo served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was engaged in farming and a member of the Ewing Saddle Club and Canton Fraternal of Eagles Club, Big Tree Aerie #1800.
He is survived by his daughter, Marcha Wiskirchen and husband Charles of Warrensburg, Missouri; son, Michael Don Tuley & wife, Marcia of Lewistown, Missouri; two granddaughters, Angela Stoecklein and husband, Jeff and Amy Madrid; three great-grandchildren, Collin Stoecklein, Kylie Madrid and Jordyn Madrid; brother, Ernest Dewey Tuley and wife, Martha of Quincy, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Donald K. Meyer of East Peoria, Illinois, and Wendell Meyer of Plain City, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Wheeler.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2 p.m., at Arnold’s Funeral Home in Lewistown, Missouri, with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial with graveside military honors by Lewis County Memorial Post #578 will be in the Lewistown Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Willie Gaus, Willie O’Brien, Vernon O’Brien, Mark Shuman, Jon Schmidt and Gary McCaskill.
Honorary Pallbearers: Steve Lynn, Eldon Gaus, William “Butch” O’Brien, Gilmer Johnston and Richard Maples.
Memorials may be made to the Lewistown Cemetery Association.
