Knox Native Arrested in Boone County for Burglary, Assault, Child Endangerment

According to information released by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Chad A. Arment, 37, of Columbia, a Knox County native, was arrested on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 for alleged burglary, assault and child endangerment.
According to court documents, on Sunday, June 12, 2016, Arment allegedly entered a Boone County residence without permission. When the occupant returned, Arment allegedly came out of hiding, started an argument, retrieved a knife and threatened those present by saying, “Everyone is going to die tonight.”
During the altercation, it is alleged Arment took one of the victims’ phones away – to prevent them from calling 911.
The victim was able to call 911 and Arment fled the scene before police arrived, but not before allegedly attempting to flea with a child at the residence.
A Class C felony burglary charge was filed against Arment the following day, on June 13, 2016, by the Boone County Prosecutor Daniel K. Knight and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He was taken into custody by the Boone County Sheriff’s Office. A surety bond in the amount of $25,000 was posted the same day and he was released from custody.
Arment is scheduled to appear before Judge Kimberly Jane Shaw in Boone County Circuit Court on July 8, 2016 for an Initial Arraignment.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation. Chad Arment is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
