FRANCES ANN “FRANCIE” DELANEY

Frances Ann “Francie” Delaney, age 85 of Edina, Missouri, died Monday, September 24, 2018 at LaBelle Manor in LaBelle, Missouri. Francie was born in Edina, Missouri, on February 19, 1933 to Arthur David and Jewel Rose (Cain) Delaney.
Francie was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Edina. Her first job was at REC in Lewistown, Missouri. She then worked at Citizens Bank of Edina for 45 years beginning in bookkeeping and retiring as Senior Vice-President. She enjoyed her many co-workers and customers who became her life-long friends. She served on many committees and would always agree to be the treasurer. Playing bridge, bowling, golfing, and reading were her hobbies, but her great love was cooking. She will be remembered by many for her cooking skills, and she shared the results of her talent with many. Her desserts and candy were well-known.
Francie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Ann Altar Society in Edina, Knox County Relay for Life, the Edina Country Club, and the Knox County Community Center. She was a resident of Edina all her life.
She greatly enjoyed traveling and had many wonderful vacations around the United States. She also traveled many miles locally following the events that her nieces and nephews were participating in and was their greatest fan and supporter. One of her favorite outings was the annual Christmas shopping trip that she took with her sister and 2 close friends Annie and Jeanette.
She is survived by a brother, William T. “Bill” Delaney and Margaret; two sisters, Mary Delaney and Carol Fox and Mike, all of Edina; seven nephews, Barry Delaney and Connie, David Delaney and Kristi, Bob Delaney and Marie, Rick Delaney and Lesa, Michael Delaney and Ashley, Brian Fox and Stephanie, and Mark Fox and Emily; and many great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edina, with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Edina.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Doss Funeral Home in Edina with rosary and prayer service at 4:45 p.m.
