Hannibal Regional Hospital is thrilled to announce the arrival of the first baby born in 2026. Proud parents Breaunna Davis and John Mata of Palmyra, Missouri, welcomed a son named John on January 1, 2026, at 2:42 pm, weighing 6 pounds, 13 ounces and 19 inches long.
The family received prenatal care from Dr. Laura Maple, OB/GYN. Baby John was delivered by on-call physician Dr. Jennifer Roberts and is being cared for by pediatrician Dr. Levi Strube. “Welcoming the first baby of the new year is always a special moment,” said Dr. Jennifer Roberts. “It was an honor to be part of this family’s experience and to help bring baby John safely into the world at Hannibal Regional Hospital.”
To celebrate this special occasion, the hospital presented the family with a celebratory gift basket filled with essentials and keepsakes.
