KNOX COUNTY, Mo. — A vacant home on State Highway EE was destroyed by fire Tuesday evening, April 14, after multiple volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.

The call was dispatched at 6:49 p.m. to the residence at 50654 State Highway EE. Firefighters from the Baring, Rutledge and Edina volunteer fire departments responded.

Upon arrival, crews found the structure heavily involved in fire. After assessing the situation alongside the property owner, it was determined the home was too far gone to be saved.

Firefighters shifted their efforts to containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading to surrounding areas.

Crews remained on scene for approximately two hours as the fire consumed the structure. By the end of the response, the home was a total loss.

No injuries were reported. The house was vacant and unoccupied at the time of the fire.
