Boster Appointed as Knox County Associate Circuit Judge

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Andrew A. Boster was officially sworn in Friday afternoon as the new associate circuit judge for Knox County in Missouri’s 2nd Judicial Circuit.

Gov. Mike Kehoe announced Boster’s appointment May 15. He fills the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Thomas P. Redington.

Boster, 42, of Edina, was sworn into office by 2nd Circuit Presiding Judge Matt Wilson during a ceremony held Friday, May 15, at the Adair County Courthouse in Kirksville.

Boster has served as Knox County prosecuting attorney since 2019 and has also worked as assistant prosecuting attorney in Adair County. According to the governor’s office, he remains active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Knox County.

Wilson said Knox County Assistant Prosecutor Caleb Aponte immediately assumed the day-to-day duties of the Knox County prosecutor’s office once Boster was sworn in Friday afternoon.

Wilson said he plans to appoint an interim Knox County prosecutor on Wednesday morning, May 20. The interim prosecutor will serve until Kehoe appoints a permanent replacement.

Boster is also the only candidate who filed for the office of Knox County associate circuit judge for the upcoming term. No candidates filed for Knox County prosecutor for the next term, which begins in January 2027.

According to information released by the governor’s office, Boster earned an associate’s degree in general studies from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a bachelor’s degree in Russian and Eastern European studies from the University of Oregon. He later earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law.

Boster lives in Edina with his wife, Sierra, and their children.
