Hannibal Man Seriously Injured in Motorcycle Crash

HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man was seriously injured Thursday evening in a motorcycle crash north of Hannibal, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 5:10 p.m. July 2 on U.S. 61, about 5 miles north of Hannibal.
According to the patrol, a northbound 2002 Honda Goldwing motorcycle ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a sign and a ditch, and overturned. The driver was ejected.
The driver, a 37-year-old Hannibal man, was not wearing a safety device, according to the report. He was flown by Air Evac helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
The motorcycle was totaled and removed by Heartland Wrecker.
The crash was investigated by Master Sgt. Henry, with assistance from Sgt. Ewigman, Trooper Geren, the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Marion County Ambulance and the Palmyra Fire Department
