Motorcyclist seriously injured in Marion County crash
- PALMYRA, Mo. — A Quincy, Illinois, man was seriously injured Saturday evening in a motorcycle crash south of Palmyra, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 5:45 p.m. July 4 on U.S. 24, about 2 miles south of Palmyra.
According to the patrol, a 2024 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle was westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the left side of the road. The driver was ejected.
The driver, a 42-year-old Quincy man, was wearing a safety device, according to the report. He was taken by Marion County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital with serious injuries.
The motorcycle sustained extensive damage and was towed by Heartland Towing.
The crash was investigated by Trooper Hummel, with assistance from Master Sgt. Koch, Master Sgt. Henry, Trooper Billings and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
