Palmyra Girls Dominate Relays, Pontius, Wisehart Earn Wins at Hannibal Tri

HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Palmyra Panthers turned in a strong showing at
the Hannibal Tri on March 23, highlighted by dominant relay performances and several individual event victories on both the track and in the field.
Leah Pontius led the girls with a win in the 800-meter run, while Avery Wisehart (high jump), Brooklynn Platt (pole vault), Gracie Hammond (javelin), and Adyson Dorsey (shot put) each added first-place finishes.
The Panthers’ relay teams were equally impressive, sweeping the 4×100, 4×200 and 4×800 events.
On the boys side, Luke Sheppard was a double winner, taking gold in both the 110-meter hurdles and high jump, while the Panthers added several
runner-up finishes across distance, relays and field events.
