Miller’s Big Day Leads Palmyra Past Canton

CANTON — Raeson Miller put together a standout performance at the plate, collecting three hits to lead Palmyra to an 11-2 win over Canton on
March 26.
Miller was a consistent spark throughout the game, recording singles in the third, fourth and fifth innings as Palmyra steadily built its lead.
Palmyra broke through in the third inning when Bryant Horstmeier delivered an RBI single to get the scoring started. From there, the offense kept pressure on Canton pitching, adding runs in the middle innings before pulling away late.
The biggest surge came in the seventh, when Palmyra scored five runs. Jensen Kroeger highlighted the inning with a two-run triple, while Jayce Wilson added an RBI single. Palmyra also took advantage of a pair of Canton errors to extend the lead.
On the mound, Logan Kroeger earned the win with three scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out three. Jayce Wilson provided strong
relief, tossing two shutout innings and striking out two.
Palmyra finished with 13 hits in the game. Miller and Kroeger each had three hits, while Rafe Jones and Max Heimeradded multiple-hit performances. Rylan Compton showed patience at the plate, drawing four walks as part of an eight-walk team effort.
Additional contributions came from Ty Haskins, Brodie Webb, and Ace Harper, who all reached base as Palmyra kept consistent pressure on
Canton’s defense.
Canton managed two runs but was limited offensively as Palmyra pitching kept them off balance for most of the game.
