Philip Gottman Obituary

Philip Gottman, age 73 of Sharon, WI passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Hannibal, MO on June 29, 1952 the son of Chauncey and Thelma (Bross) Gottman.
Philip was united in marriage on May 23rd 1987, to Margie Williams and they have spent the next 38 years happily building a life together. He worked in the family boat business from 1975-1980 where he fell in love with the Cobrajet boats they were building. He was employed for many years on and off in the transportation industry as a truck driver. Philip also spent time as a union carpenter, where he learned the skills to build the family home he shared with his wife till the time of his passing. He loved to share the fact that it took him exactly one year to build the house in his spare time, as they broke ground on his birthday in 1999 and they moved into the house on his birthday in 2000.
Philip also enjoyed being able to spend time with his kids by being a volunteer baseball coach for many years, as well as, hosting multiple open gyms for a variety of sports for the local kids. This lead him to being honored by the community by selected Citizen
of the Year for his town of Sharon, WI.
Philip was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
Philip is survived by his wife, Margie Gottman of Sharon, WI; his children, James Gottman of Palmyra, MO, Kimberly Gottman of Hannibal, MO, Jesse (Amber) Gottman of Roscoe, IL, Kari (Dan Parrott) Gottman of Sharon, WI, Jonathon (Kate) Gottman of
Stevens Point, WI and Jordan Gottman of Sharon, WI; his grandchildren, Shelby Martin, Dylan (Renee) Johnson, Brylee Parrott, Carson Gottman, Kacelyn Flachs, Jasper Parrott, and Penelope Gottman; his six great-grandchildren; his one great-great-grandchild, three brothers and two sisters; his former wives, Lynn Dresser of Beloit, WI and Diane Arch of Hannibal, MO; as well his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Thelma Gottman, and his two brothers, Clifford and John Gottman.

All are welcome to join for a visitation that will be held from 10am-1pm and a Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Toynton Funeral Home, 328 Kenosha Street, Walworth, Wisconsin.
