KATHERN HOLLON

Lura Lena Kathern Hollon, 87, of Milan, Missouri passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri.

Kathern was born April 7, 1939 in Reger, Missouri to Raymond Joseph and Lula Mary (Fanning) Smith.

She married Bobby Dean Hollon on July 30, 1955, he preceded her in death on October 10, 1989.

She later married Donald Creason on May 19, 1998, he preceded her in death in February of 2026.

Kathern was also preceded by: Her parents; a granddaughter, Robbe Mae Brinkley; two grandsons, Tyson and Tyler Dearing; and several brothers and sisters.

Kathern is survived by: her two daughters, Betty Dearing of Milan and Sarina McClure and husband Mark of Brimson, MO; Grandchildren, Celesse (Chris) Runyan, Wyatt- Dean Avery (Allison) Pickering, and Kristen (Nathan) VanDevender; great grandchildren, Hollon Runyan, Gage Runyan, Jayden McClure, Cayson Harper, Jane Pickering, Willa Kate Pickering, Burton Pickering; Step-children, Larry (Debbie) Creason of Lee’s Summit, MO, Roger (Lori) Creason of Liberty, MO, and Donita Creason of Shawnee, KS; lifelong friend, Kay Rardon of Milan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a lifelong resident of the Milan and Browning area, graduating from Milan High School in 1957. She worked and retired from Banquet Foods after 40 years. She enjoyed gardening, going to auctions, and most of all spending time with her family.

A graveside service for Kathern was held Monday, May 4, 2026 at White Oak Cemetery, South of Milan, MO with Nathan VanDevender officiating. Ruschmeier- Smith Funeral Home handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to White Oak Cemetery.
