Sheppard, Augspurg Advance for Palmyra at Sectional Meet

MOKANE, Mo. — Palmyra’s Luke Sheppard and Kason Augspurg punched their tickets to the state meet Saturday, May 16, at the MSHSAA Class 2 Sectional 2 track and field meet at South
Callaway High School.
The top four finishers in each event advanced to state. Sheppard qualified in both hurdles events, placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles in 16.12 seconds and third in the 300-meter hurdles in
42.15. Augspurg added another state berth for the Panthers, placing fourth in the javelin with a throw of 49.16 meters.
Leah Pontius narrowly missed advancing for the Palmyra girls, placing fifth in the 800-meter run in 2:30.01.
