Meet the Palmyra R-1 Prom Candidates

Palmyra High School will host its 2026 prom, “At Last We See the Light,” on Saturday, April 25, transforming the evening with a fairytale-inspired setting
featuring a castle tower, glowing lanterns and purple flowers. As part of the annual tradition, doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with promenade beginning at 7 p.m. on the track at Palmyra High School.
Immediately following the promenade, the 2026 prom queen and king will
be crowned before students continue the celebration from 7 to 10 p.m. The
following candidates have been selected for this year’s prom court.
Let’s meet this year’s candidates:
Adyson Dorsey is the daughter of Bryon and Cathy Dorsey. She is a member of the FCA, played Softball and track and field for all four years of high school. Adyson also attends Quincy Church of Christ. For the past two years, Adyson has been at VoTech, completing her Cosmetology license. After graduating, Adyson plans to go to Aesthetician School in Quincy at Aspire Cosmetology and Spa Institute.
Sophie Hicks is the daughter of Mark and Jill Hicks. She is the Vice President of Finance in FBLA and a member of the Cheerleading team while at Palmyra High School. Sophie also attends Harvest Bible Church. Sophie will be attending William Woods University on a Cheerleading Scholarship where she plans on studying Business Administration with a concentration in Management and Leadership. She plans to open a Hair Salon after graduating.
Jerzey Ramey is of daughter of Carrie and Tanner Ramey. She is a four-year
member of the Palmyra Lady Panthers Basketball Team as well as a four-year member of the Palmyra Lady Panthers Softball Team. Jerzey also attends Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. Jerzey loves hanging out with her friends and her family in her free time. After graduating, Jerzey will be continuing her Softball Career at MACC in Moberly.
Grant White is the son of Clayton White and Sally West. While being involved in multiple sports in high school, he enjoyed playing basketball
for two years at Palmyra High School. Outside of school, Grant enjoys hunting, being outdoors, and staying active and continues to keep it as his passion. After graduating, Grant plans to join the workforce, more particularly at General Mills.
Rafe Jones is the son of Joe and Annie Jones. Rafe has been a four-year member of the Palmyra Baseball Team, a three-year member of the Palmyra Basketball Team, and a two-year member of the Palmyra Football Team. Rafe has also been a four-year member of the Palmyra FFA Chapter, a three-year member of the FCA, and a two-year member of the National Honor Society. Rafe is also a three-year member of the Palmyra FFA Trap Team, which he helped lead to a district championship last fall, the first time to happen in the Chapter’s history. Rafe also attends St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he is an active member of the High School Youth Group and other Parish activities. In his free time, Rafe enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time at his family’s farm. After graduation, Rafe plans to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia to major in Civil Engineering.
JaTayvion Thomas is the son of Mike and Luchea Thomas. JaTayvion is a
member of FFA, FCA, Football, and Track Team. “They thought my story
ended with an injury on the football field, but it was just the start of a new chapter. My body took a hit but my determination didn’t.” JaTayvion plans to attend college for agriculture management.
