Elizabeth Janice “Betty” Myers, 84, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 5:45 PM, Monday, April 13, 2026, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal, MO.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 27, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO. Fr. Greg Meystrik will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Friends and Family are invited to Betty’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Monday, April 27, 2026, at the church.
The family is being served by the James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, MO.
Betty was born March 4, 1942, in Hannibal, MO, to George Gerald
McIntyre and Winiferd Lucille Elizabeth Hays McIntyre.
She was married to Mark E. Myers Jr. on July 23, 1960, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hannibal, MO. He preceded her in death on December
23, 2017.
Survivors include her two children, Robert J. Myers (Karen) of Hannibal, MO, and Christopher A. Myers (Jesse) of Alburnett, IA; daughter-in-law,
Janet Myers; one sister, Shirley Marshall (Jim) of Sandy, UT; one sister-in-law, Donna McIntyre of Fairfax, VA; 10 grandchildren:Matt Crume (Stefanie), Levi Shinn (Emily), Tiffany Shinn, Jeremy Myers (Kacee), Kolton
Myers, Zachary Myers, Jack Myers, Eliot Myers, Eli Myers, and Ellie Allen (Mikie); six great grandchildren: Aidan Crume, Mattison Crume, Alexander
Shinn, Wyatt Myers, Huntleigh Crume, and Theodore Shinn; and several nieces and nephews. Betty is also survived by special friends, Lana Riefesel
and Sheila Markley.
In addition to her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Gregory Myers; and one brother, Gerald Lee McIntyre.
Betty retired after 31 years from Hannibal Carbide Tool where she was the Inventory Manager.
Betty found happiness in the simple pleasures of everyday life, she
enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, watching Wheel of
Fortune and Jeopardy, and spending peaceful moments feeding the birds
and bird watching.
She especially loved seeing cardinals and took great pride in tending to her seasonal flowers. A wonderful cook, Betty was especially known for fried tenderloins or beef stroganoff, dishes that became favorites among those fortunate enough to gather around her table. Betty also treasured the time
she spent with her family, and some of her happiest memories were made during the summer months when she and her loved ones spent time boating
on the river. Those days were filled with laughter, conversation, and the comfort of being together. She valued family above all else, and her love
for her children, grandchildren was evident in the support and encouragement she gave so freely.
Betty will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Betty was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
