MoDOT Announces Roadwork in Clark County Through May 1

HANNIBAL, Mo. (April 20, 2026) — The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced upcoming highway maintenance projects in northeast Missouri, including scheduled closures in Clark County through May 1.

Motorists can view road conditions and planned closures on the Traveler Information Map at traveler.modot.org/map/. MoDOT officials said inclement weather may impact the schedule, and additional moving operations may occur across the region.

Drivers are urged to use caution in work zones by buckling up, putting down their phones, slowing down and moving over for highway crews.

In Clark County, Missouri Route 81 is scheduled to close April 21-22 for culvert replacement operations from Route Z to County Road 368. The closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

Additional work on Missouri Route 81 is planned for April 24, when the roadway will be closed from County Road 479 in Clark County to County Road 483 in Lewis County. That closure is also scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

MoDOT encourages drivers to plan ahead and remain alert while traveling through construction zones.
